Who We Are

As our nation continues the war against terrorism, Naval forces of tomorrow must plan to successfully meet the technology demands of uncommon challenges.  A critical mission facing our country is to engage the nation's brightest scientists and technology experts to focus on Navy and Marine Corps technology problems to assure that its warfighters have unsurpassed capabilities.

The Department of the Navy has cultivated N-STAR to meet this challenge, with the goal of recruiting the nation's brightest scientists and technology experts to the Navy and Marine Corps team. The objective of N-STAR is to reverse the technology "brain drain" that is depleting the civilian workforce and enable the Navy and Marine Corps to assemble the critical mass of highly skilled professionals needed to maintain the country's technological edge over any adversary to assure the ultimate success of tomorrow's Navy and Marine Corps.
